Soap
Making soap from coconut oil
Residents of remote areas of coastal Papua New Guinea lack access to employment, education and health care. While they have few material resources they do have the Tree of Life - the coconut palm.

The Gareth Ivory Foundation is raising funds to commission Kokonut Pacific to install coconut oil presses in selected villages.

Coconut oil will give the villagers a product to sell but also to be used for cooking oil and the manufacture of soap and biofuel, essentials that must be otherwise shipped from distant towns at considerable cost.

For more information about the work of Kokonut Pacific see their website.
